Every year I remove close to 80 gallbladders by keyhole surgery. (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) This is a photo of a gallbladder that I removed from a young lady recently. The gallbladder has been opened and the greenish, yellow rocks in the centre of the specimen are gallstones. Generally, patients feel better after gallbladder removal, usually staying in hospital one night and back to most work within two weeks.
