Obese patients have more surgical complications

This photo shows the belly of an obese person who has developed a large bulge on the side after a bowel operation which was conducted via a big cut below his belly button. This is known as a hernia which can be very uncomfortable.
At the Central Coast Surgery clinic, Dr Ken Wong performs most operations involving the abdomen by keyhole surgery, thereby mostly avoiding these sorts of problems. Obese patients tend to have more complications after any surgery. This is worsened if big cuts are used.
For an opinion on whether keyhole surgery is possible for your condition, please contact the Central Coast Surgery Clinic on (02) 4323 7000 or visit www.centralcoastsurgery.com.au
